WHAT TO DO IF THE TRAIN IS LATE? 🚉
As recently as September 2021, all of Germany was paralyzed by a railroad strike. Trains ran with long breaks or were canceled altogether.
This can be treated in different ways. But above all, it is the ability of railway employees to defend their rights and interests.
The opinion that the German Deutsche Bahn walks like a Swiss watch is a mistake. And without strikes, trains are often late or canceled altogether. According to statistics, every 4th train is delayed.
❓ What can we, as consumers, do in this case? How much compensation can I get?
🔵 If the train is delayed for more than 60 minutes, then 25% of the cost can be refunded.
🔵 With a delay of more than 120 minutes - 50% of the cost.
🔵 If it is announced that the train is delayed for more than 20 minutes, then you can use another train.
🔵 If a delay is announced for more than 60 minutes and your trip becomes irrelevant, then you have the right to return even a non-refundable ticket.
✅ You must declare your claim within 1 year from the date of this trip.
You can apply on the DB website or in the application if an e-ticket was purchased.

✅ These rules are valid not only in Germany 🇩🇪, but throughout Europe 🇪🇺.
❌But the railways are not liable for consequential damages, such as if you miss your flight due to a late train.
