If a resident of Germany has a valid driving license of another country obtained before moving, then they can be exchanged (umschreiben) for a similar German category A or B.

In the first 6 months from the date of registration at the place of residence in Germany, it is allowed to travel with foreign documents.

How to register your car in Germany and the list of documents required for this you will find here.

Procedure

1. Choose a driving school

2. Then you need to contact ADAC so that the car club confirms the availability of categories and their compliance with German ones. Often this can also be done at the Führerscheinstelle

3. Find nearby Führerscheinstelle (The German office has the right to take away a driver's license from a foreigner during the exchange)

4. Submit the required set of documents

vision test vision test - take place in an optics store or an optometrist. It can also often be done at the center where the first aid course is held. Erste Hilfe Kurs.
Based on the results of the test, a certificate is issued, which indicates whether the future driver needs glasses or not. If points are indicated in the certificate, then without them to practical exercises.
Driving without glasses or lenses, if marked as necessary, will result in a serious fine.

Photo 3x4 cm (4 pcs.) - done for 10 € in a photo studio or for 5 € in a photo booth.

One photo goes into a personal file in a driving school, two more for a questionnaire in local authorities, the last one remains in the file cabinet of police drivers.

If it turns out that glasses are needed for driving, it is better to take pictures with them on immediately so that there are no unnecessary questions when presenting a driver’s license.

Certificate of Completion of First Aid Courses First aid course. For example, a student takes a course on Saturday from 9:00 to 18:00. Classes are exciting and simple: the trainer shows how to do bandaging and artificial respiration, gives useful tips on saving life and health.

Application for a driver's license - submitted to the local authority Fuhrerscheinstelle. Two photographs and a production fee are attached to the application.

After submitting the documents to the Führerscheinstelle, we again head to the selected driving school

5. In a driving school, you can buy a program for passing theory and learn tickets. You can also buy the program yourself. The driving school will write you down for a theoretical exam, you can take it in Russian.

6. Pass the theory test and you will have 1 year to pass the practical driving test

7. When you are ready to drive, you need to sign up for driving lessons at a driving school (at least 3 lessons are recommended to understand the local specifics), or if you are confident in your abilities, you can immediately take the exam

8. The rights are issued on the spot by the examiner on the same day, or at the Führerscheinstelle. The exam is held in German. Minimum basic knowledge required: 20-30 phrases.

  1. Good afternoon. Tell me how to exchange Canadian licenses of categories B, BE, C, CE for a Canadian citizen? Work experience in these categories in Canada is 22 years. Is a retake necessary? And if so, how much could it cost? Or where can I contact about these issues?

    1. Good afternoon.
You need to contact your office to confirm your rights and, with a high degree of probability, an agreement has been concluded between Canada and Germany and perhaps they will simply replace your driver’s license. But only the Führerscheinstelle can say this.

  2. Good afternoon, I am planning to replace my Ukrainian driving license, but my driving license is an old model from 2006. Are they suitable for replacement? Or is it worth making an international standard and then applying for a German certificate?

    1. Good afternoon.
You can find out this only in your local department, after confirming your rights.
But I don’t see any problems with confirming old-style rights.

  3. Good afternoon. When replacing a category CE license, do you need a medical certificate? Romanian rights with paragraph 70 MD.

    1. Good afternoon!

Yes, when replacing a Romanian CE license with a German one, you will need a medical certificate.

  4. Hello.
Given: rights obtained in Latvia (not exchanged)
    Category B BE C{95} CE{95} modules are valid until 18.05.2025/27.02.24/XNUMX (today XNUMX/XNUMX/XNUMX)
Registered in Germany, can I exchange my license for a German one so that they indicate the same dates of the modules or can I only do it after periodic 45-hour training on the modules?

    1. Hello.
Only the Straßenverkehrsamt (Traffic Department) or Führerscheinstelle (Driving License Office) in Germany can give you the correct answer to find out the exact requirements and exchange procedure.

  5. Hello
Please tell me if my Ukrainian license expired in 2009 and I want to renew it now in Germany, will I need to reapply for a new license or can it be reissued?

    1. Hello.
If you have the opportunity to renew your original Ukrainian license, then you will be able to drive on it until the age of 25.
There is currently no simplified replacement for Ukrainians in Germany. As for the standard procedure, it is worth checking with the Straßenverkehrsamt (Traffic Department) or Führerscheinstelle (Driving License Office) in Germany to find out the exact requirements and exchange procedure.

  6. Hello, I passed my driving license in Germany; According to the rules, I sent my old license by mail and DHL lost it. In this case, will it be possible to get new plastic and will the previous experience be indicated there?

    1. Hello.
Only the Straßenverkehrsamt (Traffic Department) or Führerscheinstelle (Driving License Office) in Germany can give you the correct answer to find out the exact requirements and exchange procedure.
But experience will most likely be indicated, because... The department already has this data after you passed your license for verification.

  7. Hello, I have an old-style Moldovan license, that is, without a deadline, can I change it to a German one without passing a theoretical exam?

    1. Hello.
Only the Straßenverkehrsamt (Traffic Department) or Führerscheinstelle (Driving License Office) in Germany can answer this question correctly to find out the exact requirements and exchange procedure.

  8. Good afternoon. I am from Ukraine and am now starting the process of replacing my license in Germany and I have had a license since 2010. I have 13 years of experience, please tell me when replacing a license, is experience taken into account? I mean, will these 10 years be written in the new license?

    1. Hello.
Yes, a mark is placed when the first license was issued.

  9. Hello, please tell me, I have a Moldovan license, now I’m exchanging it for a German one, I passed it to category B, I still have to pass the CE, but in two weeks my Moldovan license expires. I have a question: will I have any problems exchanging an already expired license? !? Thank you

    1. Good afternoon.
There won't be any problems. This happens often. The main thing is to start the replacement process before the current rights expire.

    2. Hello, I have a Polish license, I studied in Poland for category c+ e, my passport is Ukraine, I work on a visa in Germany, I need to change it to a German one. The company says you can work until the end of their validity period.

    3. Hello.
In Germany, as in most countries of the European Union, the rules for the recognition and exchange of driving licenses are regulated by local laws, but there are also general recommendations and agreements between EU countries.
If you lived in Poland and studied for your license, i.e. If you did not receive them through the “replacement” procedure, they are valid and do not need to be changed.
More detailed information can be obtained from your local Zulassungstelle.

  10. Valery, good night. In general, my epic with rights described earlier continues. I visited the rights department again and again there was an excuse, there was no confirmation of my rights from the issuing country. In response to my offer to confirm, ADAC said that ADAC is not their order. When asked to make an apostille, they said that they could allow me to study with an apostille, but I would not receive a license. In the end, I decided to ask where they were sending the request so that I could speed up the process, to which the answer was received that they were sending the request to another organization and that organization was already sending the requests. In general, a vicious circle.
P.s I read the legislation and didn’t find anything. I also went to the website of the German Embassy in Moldova and they also do not have a procedure for legalizing a driver’s license. Something like this.

    1. Strange, very strange.
Is there any news on your question? The German office must verify through its own channels that the rights are legal. Therefore, a response from the official department in Moldova is mandatory.

  11. Hello, I have Russian citizenship, and I have a Ukrainian residence permit. Driver's license of the Russian Federation, do I need to change my license according to paragraph 24?

    1. Good afternoon.
Those under paragraph 24 do not need to change their rights.

  12. Hello, I still have paragraph 24 and I am now changing Ukrainian to German. An agreement has been signed with the school and all documents and photos have been submitted to the Führerscheinstelle. The question is, can I drive a car while preparing for and passing exams? Will I receive a fine?

  13. Good afternoon. Now I live in Germany and have paragraph 24, I plan to change paragraph and
Now I’m changing my Ukrainian license to German. The Führerscheinstelle employee said that now I won’t be able to drive a car with a Ukrainian license, only when I get a German one. Otherwise I'll get a fine. Above in the comments, I read that you can drive during the period of retesting theory and driving practice if you have paragraph 24. Since this procedure lasts more than one month, I would not like to receive a fine. Could you please provide some link to a document that confirms the possibility of driving during the period of replacement of a Ukrainian license with a German one? In advance, thanks for your answer.

    1. Hello.
If you are deprived of paragraph 24, then you will not have the right to travel through Ukrainian driving licenses.

  14. Good afternoon!
Maybe you can tell me if I have a German residence permit, but my non-German license has not yet been replaced, and 6 months have passed.
In this case, do Russian rights apply in other EU countries Poland, Latvia and Lithuania in the case of short-term tourist trips?

    1. Hello.
If you travel to other EU countries as a tourist, then most often your VU is valid.
But of course, it is worth clarifying the specifics of local legislation.

  15. Hello Valery. Be so kind as to answer a couple of questions.
    1. Is there a deadline for “Erste Hilfe”, since I completed it 2 years ago? Due to some circumstances, it was not possible to get straight into the Driving School. Or will I need to go through this “Erste Hilfe” procedure again?
    2. How long after passing the theory can I pass the practice?

    1. Good afternoon.
      1. Erste Hilfe does not have a validity period, i.e. it is indefinite.
      2. If I’m not mistaken, then after passing the theory you are given 12 months to pass the practice.

  16. Good afternoon . The other day we called this Straßenverkehrsamt, but they shrugged their shoulders and said they didn’t know anything about replacing the VU. Maybe there is another department where I can contact?

  17. Hello Valery, where can I find out how to change the Kazakh VU to German? Where can I contact the land of Nrv Paderborn in Germany?

    1. Hello!

To find out how to change your driver's license from Kazakhstan to a German one, you can contact your local Straßenverkehrsamt (traffic authority).

  18. Hello, please tell me, to exchange a Belarusian passport for a German passport with a D visa, is it enough or is a residence permit required? Thank you.

    1. Hello!

The procedure for exchanging driving licenses in Germany for foreign citizens may vary depending on the state of residence and the specific conditions established by local authorities. However, in general, to replace a driver's license with a German one, proof of legal stay in the country is required. This means that you will need to have a residence permit (residence permit) or other permission to reside in Germany.

The D visa is usually a national visa that allows you to enter and reside in Germany for a long period of time for the purpose of work, study or family reunion. It is valid until a residence permit is issued. So, if you have a valid D visa, you will most likely be able to apply for a German driving license, but this does not replace the need to obtain a residence permit in the future.

However, it is advisable to check with your local traffic authority (Straßenverkehrsamt) directly, as regulations may vary and may vary locally.

  19. Hello Valery, my husband has a Moldovan license of categories A, B, C. I recently passed category B here in Germany. The clerk said that she would issue a German license only on the condition that she would take the Moldovan one. What about other categories? After all, they are valid in other countries, for example in Moldova, Romania? What does the law say about this? Do they have the right to deprive a driver of other categories? How to reserve your rights with the condition not to use them in Germany? Thank you very much for your answer.
    Regards, Tatiana

    1. Tatyana, hello.
      You have 2 options:
      1. When traveling outside Germany, take your Moldovan license and hand over your German one.
      2. You can try to explain the need for Moldovan rights and perhaps they will leave them to you. Such cases do happen.
      Regards, Valery

  20. Hello! I have a German residence permit and am in the process of changing my license. 6 months have already expired, but the deadline for passing the exam is only in a few months. I want to go on vacation to Spain, for example, can I rent a car there and drive with my Russian license? Thank you!

    1. Hello.
Theoretically, your rights from the Russian Federation in the case of tourism are valid in other countries, if they do not have any local restrictions.
Those. if Spain does not limit your situation, then you can use them.
      Best regards,
      Valery

  21. Good afternoon, I lived in Germany for 10 years, I used to live in Portugal, I changed my license from Ukrainian, now I have Portuguese citizenship and a license with a mark (transferred from UA), I was stopped a bunch of times, fined, taken away for a month, etc., but everything is fine. I even asked the police, they say you’re a citizen of Portugal, you don’t need it, it’s just that all this gets on your nerves, I’d like to change without having to go through school again

    1. Good afternoon.
It’s a really strange situation when you have both citizenship and rights of an EU country.
Try going to your registration authority and asking them about a replacement.

    2. Hello, Sergey. As I understand it, the problem is that the rights were initially obtained from the UA (indicated in paragraph 12). I have a similar situation, only without the fines. Write if you know a way out of this situation. Thank you

  22. Good afternoon Valeriy. I am a citizen of Moldova. I have not replaced my license within 6 months. I was stopped, after which I submitted documents to replace my license. 18 days ago the prosecutor sent an official notification that the case against me was closed because I had paid the fine. I contacted the local registration authority about the status of my permission to retake, they told me that they were waiting for confirmation from the Bundesamt. Can I submit a request for confirmation myself and where should I submit my request?
    Thanks in advance

    1. Hello.
The average time for confirmation of rights was previously 4-8 weeks and nothing could be done about it.
      Just wait unfortunately.

  23. Hello. I am a Belarusian and work for a Lithuanian transport company. For an accident in Germany, he was deprived of his driving license in Germany for a year. There was no alcohol. Please tell me where to go after the ban expires? I have a Lithuanian residence permit.

    1. Hello.
To the authority where your driving license was submitted.
Most likely this is at your place of residence.

  24. Is it possible to have a driving license from several countries in Germany, such as Lithuania and Germany? Country of permanent residence is Germany.

    1. Good afternoon.
      Yes, this is acceptable.
      Best regards,
      Valery Melekh

  25. Good afternoon. Please tell me if I have a Moldavian driver’s license exchanged in Italy, do I have the opportunity to use it in Germany?

    1. Elena, hello.

I recommend that you contact your registration authority with a similar question.
Because there may be questions about the fact that the driver's license was not received, but was exchanged in Italy.

      Best regards,
      Valery Melekh

  26. Good afternoon I have been in Germany for more than a year. I have a Ukrainian license and paragraph 24. I want to retake the German exam so that I can later transfer to the Blau Karte. I have already submitted documents to replace my license (Umschreibung). Please tell me, can I drive on a Ukrainian license from the moment I receive permission to retake it until passing the practical exam (obtaining a temporary license)?

    1. Good afternoon.
You can drive on a Ukrainian license as long as you have paragraph 24. As soon as you change the type of visa, you will lose the preferential right to drive with a Ukrainian license.

      Best regards,
      Valery Melekh

  27. Hello! I have been in Germany as a student (residence permit for studies) for a year now. Ukrainian temporary rights (for a period of 2 years) expire in a month. I want to replace it with a German license without going through a driving school. Is there such a possibility? Or will I not have time and does it make sense to replace my Ukrainian license at the consulate with a permanent one (for 10 years) and only then replace it with a German one? Thank you.

    1. Hello.
Only paragraph 24 makes it possible to drive a car with a Ukrainian license for more than 6 months.
As for replacement, it is better for you to contact your registration authority and they will be able to tell you whether your license can be replaced. It is usually important that they are in force at the time of application.

      Best regards,
      Valeri.

  28. Good afternoon I am now in Germany under Section 24. I want to study for my license in Poland, will they be recognized in Germany???
    Thank you in advance!

    1. Hello.
If you reside in Poland at the time of obtaining your license, your license will be recognized.
If you live in Germany, this does not make sense.

  29. Does a probationary period apply when confirming a Ukrainian driving license with 10 years of experience?

    1. Anton good morning,

      Thank you for your message.

When confirming a license (previously issued in another country) in Germany, there will be no probationary period, but to find out about the current requirements and procedures for confirming a Ukrainian license in Germany, you should contact the relevant authority in Germany that issues driving licenses, such as Straßenverkehrsamt (Road Office) or Führerscheinstelle (Driving License Office).

  30. Hello, tell me, if I have a work contract as a driver, do I need to change my license??
    Paragraph 24 missing

    1. Hello!

If you have a driving license issued in one of the European Union or European Economic Area (EEA) countries, it is valid in Germany without the need to change it.

However, if your license was issued outside the EU or EEA, its validity in Germany is limited. Typically, such rights are valid in Germany for the first 6 months after establishing permanent residence. After this period you must obtain a German driving license.

To obtain a German license, sometimes it is enough to simply exchange it without an additional exam, and in some cases you will need to pass a theoretical and/or practical exam. This depends on the country in which your original license was issued, as well as on the existence of bilateral agreements between Germany and that country.

For more precise information and to determine your specific actions, I recommend contacting your local transport and driving office (Führerscheinstelle) in Germany.

  31. Is it possible to additionally open categories when exchanging Ukrainian rights for German ones using a simplified scheme? Does category B (driving a car) in a German license give the right to drive a motorcycle or does this category need to be opened separately?

    1. Good afternoon, Vitaly!

Unfortunately, there is no simplified scheme 🙁
In order to operate a motorcycle, you need to undergo separate training and pass exams.

    2. Hello, I have a Russian driver's license with categories B,C,D. After moving to Germany, will they allow me to simply retake the exams for these categories during the process of replacing with a German license, or will they force me to study for a truck and bus from scratch?

    3. Good afternoon, Herman!

When exchanging a foreign driving license for a German one, you must pass a theory test as well as a practical test. Your Russian license and categories B, C and D may be taken into account and you may not need to start your training from scratch. However, this will depend on your experience and knowledge, and the decision will be made by the employees dealing with your issue.

It is recommended to contact your local traffic authority (Strassenverkehrsamt) or your nearest driving license exchange office (Führerscheinstelle) in Germany for accurate information and advice.

  32. Hello! Is it possible to exchange Belarusian rights in Germany? How much does it cost to study and pass in Germany for a driving license from scratch?
Thanks in advance for the answer
    Daria

  33. Good afternoon. I moved to Germany in connection with my marriage, I went through registration (propiska) the other day, I don’t have a residence permit yet. I have Belarusian rights. How are the 6 months allowed to drive in Germany with a national license counted from the moment of registration or obtaining a residence permit?
And another question, if I get a driving license in Italy now, will I be able to drive on them in Germany and do I need to change them to German ones?
    Thank you

    1. Hello.
Basically, all registration authorities look at the date of registration and count from this date.
In Italy, you must obtain a license when you are registered in Italy and discharged from Germany. And rights should be obtained from scratch, not replaced.

  34. Good afternoon. Is it possible to exchange Danish (Denmark) CE rights for German ones? In connection with the move. And approximately how much will it cost? (driving test, etc.). Thank you

    1. Hello.
If the rights were obtained in Denmark initially, then the replacement procedure should be simplified. Please check with your registrar for details.

  35. Hello Valery.
I have dual citizenship of Russia and Germany. I have lived in Germany for one year.
Do I have the right to drive with Russian driving license in Germany after 6 months?
Thank you in advance for your reply.

    1. Hello.
No, after 6 months you do not have the right to drive on the RF rights.

  36. Good afternoon When submitting an application for confirmation of categories at the Russian Federation Higher Education Institution, I asked to confirm the two categories that I had - A and B. Now I have decided to postpone taking the exam in category A and will only take B. Will I be given a German license in this case or do I need to do it first? pass in both categories and only then get a license? If I pass for category B, get a license, and a few months later I pass for category A, will I have to change my license? Thank you!

    1. Good afternoon.
You need to indicate your desire to confirm only category B and you can immediately get rights. Then give A.

  37. Good afternoon. have a residence permit in Germany, a driver's license cat. B of the Republic of Lithuania which ends at the end of the year. In Lithuania, they refused to replace the rights with new ones. there are no Lithuanian documents anymore. What do you need to change the rights to new ones in Germany?

    1. The best way to answer this is at the registration authority in your city. Because makes a big difference: whether you got a license in Lithuania from scratch or also changed it there.

  38. Good evening, I have been living in Berlin on the 24th paragraph for more than a year, the criminal police stopped me and warned me that I need to change my license, otherwise they will issue a warning next time, what should I do next time? what can be referred to and how should I justify it to them that I have the right to travel until the end of the paragraph? thank you in advance.

  39. Good morning. There are international rights issued in Ukraine. According to them, my husband worked in Europe before the war. Does he need to confirm them (with passing the exam) or is only an exchange possible? Thank you.

    1. Good afternoon.
If we are talking about category C rights, then they must be confirmed.
It is better to contact the Zulassungs- und Fahrerlaubnisbehörde at your place of residence.

  40. Hello, I have been living in Germany for 6 years, the rights of the Russian Federation, I never got around to changing them. They advised a service where you can get rights in Poland and then exchange them in Germany. the feeling that it doesn’t work that way for two reasons: (1) without registration in Poland I don’t understand how to get a license and (2) it always says that you can exchange the rights of other EU countries if they were obtained before entering Germany. it's like that?

    1. You answered your own question. You must be a resident of Poland so that the rights received in Poland can be exchanged in Germany.

  41. Hello. I want to exchange my Moldovan driver's license for a German one. What is needed for this? Thank you

    1. Good morning,

contact the Zulassungs- und Fahrerlaubnisbehörde for your registration, a clear answer will be given on the necessary actions.

  42. Good afternoon!
Please tell me, my husband with a Lithuanian residence permit passed the theory and practice exam in the highest CE category and received European rights.
Upon arrival in Germany on a work visa, you need to rewrite the Lithuanian rights to German ones.
Do I need to take the exams again? If so, in what categories? Only on the highest CE or each category separately?

    1. Good morning

Find according to your registration in Germany - “straßenverkehrsamt führerschein *your_city*” a service that will answer you one hundred percent correctly on what to do.

  43. Hello, Russian law, I have a container of races ending in 5 months, I changed them in Chechnya and Germany 2 races ends as you wrote to me, without a fine and without an accident, I drove correctly, thanks in advance.

  44. Hello Valery!

I am now in Germany, but I do not have time to change my Russian driver's license to a German one (the driver's license is expiring).
There is a certified copy of the driver's license and a translation (confirmation that I had a license). I want to go to the Russian Federation and change my Russian license for new ones and then start replacing these new driver's licenses with German ones.
In this case, will the Führerscheinstelle staff have questions for me? What experience will be taken into account? Total or only for the last rights?

Thanks for the help and information!

    1. Good afternoon.
The experience of issuing the first driver's license is taken into account. But it is no longer important, but accident-free driving experience, which can be confirmed by certificates from previous insurance companies.

  45. Hello, I have Russian rights, I live in Germany for 10 years, paragraph 24, I can drive cars

    1. Hello.
Paragraph 24 allows you to drive only with Ukrainian rights.

  46. Hello, I have run out of rights. In Ukraine they said you can ride and don’t need to change, but in Germany you can still ride? If yes, where it is written, if something happens, I want to show the policeman. Thank you

    1. Hello. While you are in Germany under paragraph 24, you do not need to change your rights.

  47. Hello. Tell me, please, I am on the 24th paragraph, my driving license is more than 10 years old, I want to get category A for a motorcycle, for this I will first need to change my license to German, and then open a new category? Or another scheme?
Thank you in advance for your reply.

    1. Hello.
I would recommend contacting your road department with this question. Because While you are under paragraph 24, you do not need to change your Ukrainian license. But whether it is possible to have two different rights is a rather subtle question.

  48. Hello Valery!
I am a citizen of Ukraine, I am in Germany under the 24th paragraph, but I have a Belarusian driver's license, do I need to change them to German ones? Thank you)

    1. While paragraph 24 is in effect, there is no need to change your rights.

  49. Valery good afternoon! Thanks for the consultation. I wrote to you a little higher about the Moldovan driver's license in Germany, whether they operate under paragraph 24 of temporary asylum. I was in Fahrerlaubnisbehörde, they told me that my driver's license under paragraph 24 is not valid, and even if I had Ukrainian. Maybe there is a link to the ordinance or law number.
    thanks in advance

  50. good afternoon
    Help please
Today I took my German rights and gave the Moldavian ones in exchange.
I was told that I would no longer be able to take back my Moldovan driving license when I wanted to leave the country.

    Is it legal? Or not?
And what should I do if I want to exchange my German rights for Moldavian ones?
    Thank you.

    1. Your rights will be stored for a certain time. If I'm not mistaken, then 3 years and at that time you can exchange them. Later they will be destroyed.

  51. Good afternoon. Please tell me.
The validity of the Ukrainian driver's license expires in a couple of months. I am in Germany under item 24
Can I change it to German after the expiration of the document using the simplified system? Or should it be done earlier, or should it be replaced with a new Ukrainian certificate first?
    Thank you in advance!

    1. Hello.
While paragraph 24 is in effect, you do not have to change your ID; it will remain valid, even with an expired date.
Of course, if you wish, you can change it to German by passing the exams.

  52. Good afternoon I am a citizen of Moldova, but I have a permanent residence permit in Ukraine. In Germany, I was granted refugee status under section 24. I want to ask you about a driver's license. I have a Moldovan driver's license. Is my driver's license valid until the end of paragraph 24, like the Ukrainian driver's license? Or will my driver's license expire in 6 months?

    1. Anyone who is in Germany under paragraph 24 does not have to change their driver’s license.

  53. Hello Valery, thank you for your answers!
Where can I find out more about the replacement of a Turkish driving license?
I've looked all over and can't find the answer anywhere:
can they really be replaced in a simpler mode than the Russian VU?
How can the replacement procedure be easier?

    Thank you in advance!

  54. Good afternoon.
    My question was missed, unfortunately.
I am in Germany under paragraph 24, but I have a Moldovan license.
Do I need to change them to German?
If yes, how difficult is it?

    1. Good afternoon.
Until the age of 24, everyone who is under paragraph 24 does not need to change their rights.

  55. Good afternoon, thanks for the detailed article!
Please tell me, is replacing a Turkish driver's license with a German one somehow different from replacing a Russian VU?
And is it possible to replace a Russian VU of international standard with a German one?

    1. Good afternoon.
VU of the Russian Federation of international standard - a booklet, is not valid without the main VU, only they can be replaced.
According to the Turkish higher education institution, it is better to clarify, because. there is a possibility that they can be more easily replaced.

    1. Yes, of course the process of simplified confirmation of a driver's license from Russia exists.

  56. Good evening, I am from Ukraine, now in Germany, but there is no license in the Ukrainian registry. Can I travel in Germany? And what are the consequences if something happens?

    1. If you have Ukrainian driving license, then you can drive. If there is no right, then of course it is forbidden to drive.

  57. Good afternoon.
I am in Germany under paragraph 24, but I have a Moldovan license.
Do I need to change them to German?
If yes, how difficult is it?

  58. Hello. I have Latvian driving license, EU country. Do I need to change my license to German and do I need to confirm the category? I only have B category

    1. Hello. If you received a Latvian driving license when you lived in Latvia, then you do not need to change them, they are recognized in Germany.

  59. Good afternoon, if the license ends, how to be? Can you drive further on them while paragraph 24 is in effect?

    1. As long as paragraph 24 is in force, you can not change Ukrainian rights.

  60. Good afternoon, I want to change for German rights, will there be all categories in German rights as in Ukrainian?

    1. You need to verify your rights. Separately, each category, for which it is required to take exams. More details will be given to you at any driving school.

  61. Good afternoon. Please tell me what to do if there was a deprivation of rights to Ukraine, and now I myself am in Germany. Is it possible to make a transfer in Europe? Thank you in advance.

    1. Hello. You can pass on the rights from scratch, because. you don't have a driver's license now.

    1. Hello.
Until the end of paragraph 24, there is no need to change the rights.

    2. Yes, you can confirm your rights using a simplified scheme - you only need to pass exams.

    3. Good afternoon, the driver's license was issued in Poland on the basis of replacing the Ukrainian license, I lost it in Germany, where can I make a duplicate? If I already have a residence permit in Germany, then the Polish duplicate will not be recognized.
