    • Riester Rente is not suitable for: * **High earners:** Those in the highest tax brackets may not benefit as much from the tax advantages. * **People with low income/no tax liability:** If you don't pay income tax, you won't receive tax refunds (Steuererstattung), which are a key component of Riester Rente benefits. * **Self-employed individuals (in some cases):** While some self-employed individuals can take out a Riester contract, it's not as straightforward as for employees, and other pension options might be more beneficial. * **Those who want flexibility:** Riester Rente is designed for long-term retirement savings and usually has restrictions on early withdrawal without penalty. * **People who don't want to commit to long-term savings:** The benefits of Riester Rente are realised over time, so it's not ideal for short-term financial goals.

On 17 August 2026, a fresh issue of the Federal Law Gazette (Bundesgesetzblatt) was published, covering professional driver qualifications, licence issuance rules, and examination languages. Several points personally affect a large number of people. What has been adopted:🔹 Ukrainian driving licences are now included in Anlage 11 to the Driving Licence Ordinance (FeV), meaning Ukraine has been added to the list of countries whose licences can be exchanged in Germany under a simplified procedure, without the need for a theoretical or practical test. The regulation enters into force on the day following publication, i.e., from 18 August 2026.However, there are a few caveats:➖ The document must be valid and authentic. The new rules do not legalise forged, revoked, or expired licences, nor do they reinstate driving privileges that have been revoked by Ukrainian authorities.➖ Once the amendments come into force, you must apply to your local driving licence authority (Fahrerlaubnisbehörde) and prepare documents confirming that the Ukrainian licence was lawfully issued and outlining its current status.➖ This applies to the following categories: A1, A, B, BE, C1, C1E, C, CE, D1, D1E, D, DE.What else has been adopted:🔹 The number of languages available for professional driver examinations has been increased – exams can now be taken in 9 foreign languages.🔹 The duration of the practical part of the exam for professional drivers under the initial qualification (Grundqualifikation) has been reduced from 120 to 90 minutes.🔹 Rules for lost Ukrainian licences. A new entry has been added to Anlage 9 – a special note for the temporary replacement of a lost or stolen Ukrainian driving licence.▶️ The inclusion of Ukraine in Anlage 11, alongside such a substantial simplification of the procedure, will likely serve as an additional incentive for many who seriously see their future in Germany to transition from Section 24 to one of the work-related residence permits.
💶 €3.5tn savings post 💶 €3.5 trillion in savings is gradually being eroded by inflation. Just imagine: €10,000 five years ago, with inflation at 5% per year, would have a purchasing power of only around €7,800 today.📉 The Bundesbank confirms that the real return on bank deposits in Germany remains negative. The amount of money in your account stays the same, but over time you can buy less and less with it. This is precisely what constitutes the imperceptible loss caused by inflation. The video explores options for where to keep your money so that it isn’t just sitting idle. What savings instruments do you use? 👇#germanynews #lifeinGermany #germanyonline
⏰ Frühstartrente: state op ⏰ Frühstartrente: the state is opening pension depots for children. Yesterday, 12 August, right between the eclipse runs and the peak of the Perseids, I tuned into the news channel. I didn't think the cabinet would get stuck into active work so early in the middle of the holiday season. But apparently, astronomical events influenced them too. Or perhaps it had already been decided behind closed doors ages ago. Anyway, getting to the point. ✅ The cabinet has approved the Frühstartrente bill. Now, children will be able to receive state support for their pension savings from the age of six. I can just imagine a conversation between ten-year-olds of the future: - «What's your pension portfolio like?» - «Diversified: Lego, Roblox and a bit of ETF» 😂
