How much does electricity cost in Germany
In 2026, electricity in Germany costs an average of around 37 cents per kWh — cheaper than in 2025. The basic Grundversorgung tariff is the most expensive (~42 ct); by switching to a tariff for new customers (~24 ct), a household saves between 200 and 400 euros a year.
Termination of a contract: Kündigung or Widerruf. Differences
This is the termination of a contract at the initiative of one of the parties, in accordance with the terms of the contract. That is, if there is a 1-year contract, in order to prevent it from automatically renewing for another 1 year, you need to «kündigen» it, i.e., express your wish to terminate it.

A 50 % discount on Flexpreis and a 25 % discount on Sparpreis. In other words, the discount on the cheapest tickets is half the advertised amount.
