On 17 August 2026, an amendment was published in the Bundesgesetzblatt that Ukrainian chat groups had been waiting for for three years: Ukraine has been added to Anlage 11 of the FeV – the list of countries whose driving licences can be exchanged for German ones.

The amounts have not changed since then: the edition of the Bußgeldkatalog-Verordnung dated 2 October 2024 is in force in 2026, and no general increase in fines is planned for the time being.
