Allianz: MeinZahnschutz 100

In brief. MeinZahnschutz 100 is Allianz’s top dental tariff. In August 2026 Stiftung Warentest gave it the top rating “Sehr gut (0,6)”. The tariff comes in two versions: the standard one, where the premium rises with age, and the version with Alterungsrückstellungen (ageing provisions, AR), where the premium is fixed at entry and does not rise with age afterwards. On our site this choice is offered by Allianz and SIGNAL IDUNA.

  • KIG 1-2 — a minor malocclusion
  • KIG 3 – pronounced malformations
  • KIG 4 — severe congenital malformations
  • KIG 5 — the most severe form of malocclusion

For a detailed explanation of KIG and what braces cost at each grade, see the page on braces and orthodontics in Germany. How dental top-up policies work in general, which limits apply in the first years and when taking out a contract makes sense is covered in our guide to supplementary dental insurance. For children the terms are different: children’s dentistry and insurance for a child.

Two versions of one tariff: ZS100 and ZS100AR

This is Allianz’s key distinguishing feature, and it is worth understanding before comparing prices.

ZS100 — without Alterungsrückstellungen. Cheaper to start with, but the premium rises in steps as you move into the next age group. Almost all dental tariffs on the market work this way.

ZS100AR — with Alterungsrückstellungen (Anspar-Beitrag). More expensive at the start, but the premium is tied to the entry age and does not rise with age. Allianz explains it this way: Alterungsrückstellungen are a “piggy bank” from which the more expensive years are later paid. The premium can still change with a general tariff increase, but there will be no age-related jumps.

Entry ageZS100 (premium rises)ZS100AR (premium stays fixed)
25 years18,77 €41,43 €
35 years29,88 €50,04 €
45 years41,73 €57,41 €
55 years56,93 €63,02 €

Where the break-even point lies. Take entry at 35. In the AR version you pay 50,04 € and twenty years later the same 50,04 €. In the standard version you start at 29,88 €, but move to 41,73 € at 41 and to 56,93 € at 51. Over twenty years the standard version costs about 9 800 € in total, the AR version 12 000 €. So up to sixty the standard version is cheaper.

The AR version makes sense if you plan to keep the contract past sixty: there the standard version runs to over 65 € a month and keeps rising with general increases, while AR stays at the premium fixed when you were young. And one more point: Alterungsrückstellungen are your money — it works for you rather than simply going to the insurer.

What MeinZahnschutz 100 covers

What exactlyMeinZahnschutz 100

Orthodontics for adults100 % after an accident or for a severe jaw anomaly treated together with surgery

Two rows deserve attention.

Prophylaxis with no annual cap. Cleaning can be done several times a year, and Allianz pays for every session in full. In many tariffs prophylaxis is capped at an annual amount — usually 100 to 200 €. The only caveat at Allianz is that cleaning costs count towards the limit scale of the first years.

Orthodontics “per insured event” for children. The 3 000 € limit is not a one-off for the whole contract but applies per insured event. In many tariffs such a limit is granted only once for the entire term of the contract. On top of that, KIG groups 1 and 2 are covered — mild misalignments that the Kasse does not fund at all.

Both versions are quoted in the same calculator — you see the difference at once.

Service: what sets Allianz apart in practice

We include Allianz in our selection precisely because of the service, and that should be backed by verifiable facts, not words.

  • Stiftung Warentest rating “Sehr gut (0,6)” for MeinZahnschutz 100 in both versions — ZS100 and ZS100AR. Date of the assessment: 11 August 2026. This is the top rating, and it is current.
  • Invoices are submitted in the app. The dentist sends the invoice to you, not to the insurer. You photograph it in the Allianz Gesundheits-App or upload it to the “Meine Allianz” customer portal. No paper needed.
  • Doc-on-Call. Medical advice by phone: you can ask a doctor a question without booking an appointment.
  • Size of the insurer. Allianz is Germany’s largest insurance group. For a supplementary policy that means predictability: a well-run reimbursement process, an app that works, support in German and English.

Allianz nowhere promises a specific payout time in days, and we do not invent such a figure. What we see from our clients’ experience: reimbursement under MeinZahnschutz 100 arrives without reminders and without requests for extra paperwork — an invoice sent from the app goes through on its own. That is why Allianz comes first in our selection. If a short health questionnaire at application matters more to you, take a look at Münchener Verein — there is only one question: the number of missing teeth.

Leistungsstaffel: limits in the first years

ZS 75 / ZS 90 / ZS 100 — the MeinZahnschutz 75, 90 and 100 tariffs.

PeriodZS 75ZS 90ZS 100

first 2 years1 500 €2 000 €2 500 €
first 3 years2 000 €3 000 €4 000 €
From year 4no limit

The main advantage here is the fourth year rather than the fifth. With most tariffs the limits are lifted only after four years, and with the most outdated ones only after five. Allianz opens full cover from the fourth year and reimburses up to 4 000 € over the first three years.

The scale does not apply if the costs are caused by an accident after the policy starts. Professional cleaning counts within the same scale — worth keeping in mind in the first year.

Missing teeth: up to three, with a surcharge

Allianz will issue a policy with one, two or three missing, unreplaced teeth — and with no Wartezeit (waiting period). What it costs:

At 35, this means around 7,50 € more per month for each missing tooth: the surcharge is calculated on the premium and rises with it.

What it costs: both versions and three steps

The table dates from January 2022. We checked it against the Allianz website in September 2026: the tariff page shows the same figures — €8.43 for a child, “from €12.94” at thirty and €27.10 at sixty for MeinZahnschutz 75. So the premiums of the version without ageing reserves have not changed in four and a half years. The version with ageing reserves has gone up: MeinZahnschutz 75 with entry at 25 now costs €21.11 instead of €20.78 in the 2022 table, so the other figures in the second table are only a guide; the Allianz calculator shows the exact premium.

Look at the bottom row of the second table: the later you enter the AR version, the less sense it makes — at 65 the premium is almost level with the standard one. The AR version is worth taking young.

We will calculate both versions for your age and show where your personal break-even point lies.

Orthodontics

Children up to 21. Both groups — KIG 1–2 and KIG 3–5 — are covered at 100 %, up to 3 000 € per insured event. The age limit is 21, not 18 as in most of the market. The Krankenkasse does not finance KIG groups 1 and 2 at all; here they are covered.

Adults. 100 %, with no separate cap, but only after an accident or for a severe jaw anomaly treated jointly by a maxillofacial surgeon and an orthodontist. Ordinary tooth straightening for adults is not covered — as with almost all other tariffs.

What the KIG groups are and what braces really cost — in the article on Kieferorthopädie in Germany. On children’s dentistry we have a separate page.

GOZ (dental fee schedule) factor

Invoices are reimbursed up to the GOZ Höchstsatz (maximum fee rate), i.e. up to factor 3,5. The standard factor is 2,3; above 3,5 a dentist may only bill on the basis of a separate written agreement. Laser treatment and work with a surgical microscope are reimbursed as separate GOZ items at 100 %.

There is no cap on the factor at AXA Dent Premium and NÜRNBERGER Komfort.

Pros

  • top rating from Stiftung Warentest “Sehr gut (0,6)”, awarded on 11 August 2026 — to both versions of the tariff;
  • the limits are lifted from the fourth year, not from the fifth as with most tariffs;
  • version with Alterungsrückstellungen: the premium is set by entry age and does not rise with age — on our site this choice is offered by Allianz and SIGNAL IDUNA;
  • professional cleaning at 100 % and with no annual cap, even several times a year;
  • Kieferorthopädie for children up to 21, including KIG 1 and 2, and the 3 000 € limit applies per insured event, not once for the whole contract;
  • bleaching up to 150 € every two years;
  • a policy is issued with one, two or three missing teeth, and with no Wartezeit;
  • no Wartezeit, neither for Zahnersatz nor for Zahnbehandlung;
  • invoices are submitted as a photo in the app, no paper needed;
  • Doc-on-Call: medical advice by phone without an appointment;
  • Germany’s largest insurance group — a well-run process and support in several languages.

Cons

  • in the standard version the premium rises in steps and reaches 65,63 € from age 61;
  • the version with Alterungsrückstellungen costs almost twice as much at the start: 50,04 € against 29,88 € on entry at 35;
  • Kieferorthopädie for adults — only after an accident or with a severe jaw anomaly;
  • surcharge for missing teeth — 25 % per tooth;
  • with four missing teeth no contract is concluded;
  • prophylaxis counts within the common limit scale of the first years — in year one it competes for the same 1 000 € as treatment;
  • the minimum contract term is two insurance years.

Our recommendation

Allianz is the choice for those who think long term and value predictability.

Take ZS100AR, if you are under forty and sure the contract will stay with you for a long time. You pay noticeably more in the first years, but in return you buy a fixed premium: at sixty-five you will pay the same as at thirty-five. On our site this choice is offered by Allianz and SIGNAL IDUNA.

AR is worth calculating for those over fifty, too. In the standard version the premium rises in steps and reaches 65,63 € from age 61 — the increase starts exactly when the cover matters most. AR removes that increase. The benefit depends on your time horizon, so we calculate it for your age: the answer differs for someone aged forty-five and someone aged fifty-five.

Take the standard ZS100, if your horizon is shorter or the budget matters more: 29,88 € at thirty-five for 100 % cover, the top Warentest rating and limits lifted from the fourth year.

For anyone insuring for the future, we put Allianz first: when there are no major current dental problems and service, reimbursement speed and a predictable premium are what matter.

Allianz is not the right fit in two cases:

  • if four or more teeth are missing — the contract simply cannot be concluded;
  • if an adult needs orthodontics outside of an accident — Allianz does not cover it.

Within the Allianz range the difference between 90 and 100 at thirty-five is 6,30 € a month. MeinZahnschutz 90 leaves you 10 % of the invoice: on an implant costing 3 000 € that is 300 €, almost four years of the premium difference. If you take Allianz, take the 100.

FAQ: common questions about Allianz MeinZahnschutz 100

In how the premium behaves. In the standard ZS100 version it rises in steps when you move into the next age group: 29,88 € at 31–40, 41,73 € at 41–50, 56,93 € at 51–60. In the ZS100AR version the premium is fixed by entry age and does not rise with age — on entry at 35 that is 50,04 €, and at sixty-five also 50,04 €. Cover is identical in both versions.

No — neither for Zahnersatz nor for Zahnbehandlung. Cover applies from the policy start date. But in the first years the limit scale applies: 1 000 € in year one, 2 500 € over two and 4 000 € over three.

From the fourth year. With most tariffs the limits are lifted only after four years, and with the most outdated ones only after five.

Yes, up to three missing, unreplaced teeth, and with no Wartezeit. A premium surcharge is charged for each tooth: 25 % for the first, 50 % for two, 75 % for three. With four missing teeth no policy is issued.

There is no limit on the number: cleaning can be done several times a year and Allianz reimburses it at 100 %. The only caveat is that in the first three years cleaning costs count within the common limit scale together with treatment and Zahnersatz.

For children up to 21, yes — at 100 % and up to 3 000 € per insured event, and the mild groups KIG 1–2 that the Krankenkasse does not finance are covered too. For adults, only after an accident or with a severe jaw anomaly treated jointly with maxillofacial surgery.

Yes. Stiftung Warentest rated MeinZahnschutz 100 in both versions, ZS100 and ZS100AR, “Sehr gut (0,6)”. The rating is dated 11 August 2026.

The minimum term is two Versicherungsjahre (policy years). After that the contract can be cancelled monthly: notice is given for the end of any month, there is no need to wait for the end of the policy year. The exact wording is in your Versicherungsschein (policy document) — check it before giving notice.

The calculation takes a minute and commits you to nothing.
