Due to the relatively mild winter this year and comfortable temperatures for ticks in the spring, this year the number of dangerous parasites will be much greater than in previous years. It is especially important to be careful during humid and warm days when ticks are actively moving around in search of food. Which regions of Germany have the highest risk of infection? Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, Thuringia, Saxony - these lands are recognized as endemic areas for tick-borne encephalitis, a disease caused by a virus transmitted through the bites of infected ticks 😱 ❗️Vaccination is recommended to protect against tick-borne encephalitis in these regions! Contact your Hausarzt - your insurance policy will provide you with free vaccinations. 🔴 In Germany, it is not customary to submit ticks for analysis; instead, it is recommended to independently monitor the location of the bite and the condition of the victim. 🟢 If you have accident insurance (Unfallversicherung), we recommend checking whether situations involving tick bites are covered. On April 1, a law on the legalization of cannabis came into force in Germany, according to which it is officially allowed to grow hemp for personal use (up to 3 plants per person), carry 25 grams of cannabis with you in public places, and have up to 50 grams at home. The main purpose of the law is to reduce the black market. The purchase, possession and cultivation of cannabis remains prohibited for minors. Driving while under the influence of cannabis is also prohibited. Since 2004, there has been a limit of 1,0 ng/ml THC in serum when consuming cannabis while driving. An independent group of experts proposed a permissible THC content of 3,5 ng/ml, which corresponds to 0.2 ppm alcohol content. BUT SO far no changes have been made to the law. Driving and consuming cannabis are currently illegal in Germany. For driving under the influence of drugs, you can receive a fine of up to 1500 euros, 2 Flensburg points and a driving ban for up to 3 months. You may also be required to undergo a medical psychological examination (MPU) before returning your driver's license. Under certain circumstances, this may be considered a crime and may result in imprisonment.
